Of Chance, Of Friends, and of Fiends
Well, finals is over and I am really glad. I didn't study all that much for the Art History class though. I guess since, I was already going into the final with an A, I figured that I could afford to not to push as hard. Oh well.

Today (Thursday), after meeting with Anita, Walter, Jessica, and Oya for lunch, I dropped something off at campus and went to Alvin's. There, we watched Rounders as we played some "training" hands of 7 card poker. I'm beginning to realize that poker is really a game of sizing people up and a game of wills (not to mention credible deception).

Had dinner with Christine, Pei-Hua and David afterwards. Christine just finished her second year of Med school at Tulane. She's doing well, it seems. It was certainly good to see her again. the last time I saw her was at Ruth's wedding.

Afterwards, we hung out at Border's books where this dude totally came out of nowhere, asked me about recommendations about books, graphic design, and the military. This guy seemed to agree with everything I said. I was even more suspicious when he tried to ask me for my phone number. I gave him one of my email addresses but no number and no name. If I didn't know any better, I'd say that this is someone who's trying to recruit me into a cult. It's happened to me once and expereince dictated for me to be a little suspicious. Fortunately, Christine noticed and just simply hinted that "we gotta go" and we left quickly. Christine is awesome, watching my back the way she did.
