News Briefs
Ok, I'm going to distance myself from trying to sentence all of the stuff that's been happening so I'll just list whatever comes to to mind right now.
I am very much missing someone right now. She's halfway around the globe right now on a business trip. Boy I do miss talking to her. Can't wait till November comes around.
On another note, I got a 268 on the APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test) and I'm feeling quite stoked. My next immediate goal is to break the 270 line. We wont see how that goes until next semester, I think. We will see then.
Been working on a Typography assignment and let me tell you this: I had no idea that SO much thought went into the arrangement of text on production material. Sure, you may have thought about it a little on making a flyer or a web page. However, if you were aware of how much thought went into a billboard ad for a company like Apple, you'd be amazed!
I got another Art History midterm coming up and I'm going to studying like crazy for this one. I got a "C" on the last one and I totally think I should have gotten an "A". I suppose I should at least be thankful for what I got at least.
Last night, I realize that I need to get better at chess. Alvin's other half, Jen, beat me twice. It's too much like me to start thinking tactically and not strategically when the crucial plays come up. Got to break out of that sometimes.
I'm realizing for myself that good leadership is not just about being logistically sound or strategically proficient, but also of the essence of appearance as well. By this, all of the subtleties of the person in "the chair" can make a difference in the perceptions and morale of subordinates. I guess what I'm hankering at is respect (and I mean the real kind). Whether or not I can live up to it is another issue.
I'll be glad when this semester will be finally over. I'll have almost of month of Winter Break to smile about. I swear I will not make next semester so studio heavy. Designing stuff takes a bit of time.
On a final note, I think I should try to blog more often.
