Attention!
I graduated on the 15th and we left AZ on the 16th. A funny thing happened to me on the way back.....I'm now engaged!
Yes, sports fans, it's true. Yours truly will be tying the knot at a time in the near future.
It was funny how this all came together. At first, I was set to do this on New Year's Eve. Then she scheduled some seminars for us to go to during that time. Then, I wanted to propose at a famous botannical garden in Phoenix. Then an hour-long traffic accident on the 10 freeway, burned up all our time. Then we almost didn't get to stay overnight in Palm Springs. But in the end, we stayed overnight at the beautiful Ingleside Inn.
I kinda struggled in finding a venue to do this at. I thought about the dinner table, but then she probably wouldn't like that much attention drawn to her. Then, I started looking for a park in downtown (but we never found it). So then while we were back watching CSI, I went out to check out the courtyard. It was perfect. So after the show, I took her out for a walk in the courtyard and sat her down. I got down on both knees (yes, both) and gave her the ring. It was so beautiful.
Wish I had a photo of the ring but it's in the shop being re-sized (something that the original jewelry gallery in Tucson said they did but didn't). You'll see it in about a week's time.
Anyhow, this marks a new beginning for us. If you'd like to hear it from her, by all means.
Cheers.
