Another Weekend in the Clouds
A cloud flew into town. A very refreshing breeze came along with it.

I spent the weekend with the girl. We went up to Truckee to hang with my cousin at his cabin. We did a lot of touring of the town and cooked for him as we watched movies and stuff.

On our way back, we stopped by our alma mater, UC Davis. We ran over 2 miles at the Arboretum. Lemme say that I got really worried when I finished well ahead of her. I thought she got lost or robbed. She was fine, though. Afterwards, we ate dinner at good ol' Dos Coyotes. Afterwards, we walked the Green Belt in North Davis all the way to Northstar Park. It's times like these where we have the most meaningful of conversations. It was also here that we came to the conclusion that Davis is a sweet place to live.

Afterwards, we drove back into the Bay Area to hang with Dave and Pei-Hua at a local donut shop. Man, we stayed up late.

The next day, we hung with my folks as we hung at the Japanese Friendship Garden and ate lunch there after. We watched the remaining movies before we went out for dinner and went to drop her off at the airport.

Looking back, I can tell that my parents like her. I can also tell that she likes my folks as well. What can I say? She makes me smile. She's wonderful. =)

I noticed that on the day that she left, it was the only day out of the long weekend that didn't have a cloud in the sky. You might as well say that she took the clouds with her as she went. If you knew her as well as I do, you might see how that could be symbolic.

Although I already miss her, I'll be seeing her in about 1-and-a-half weeks. =)

A Snapshot
I had a very nice weekend. She came. Even though I had so many other commitments happening around me, I still managed to find time to be with her. Although I could go into all of the little details, let me just say that it was a beautiful weekend. I cherish whatever amount of time I can spend with her.

I just dropped her off over an hour ago at the airport. Time at the departure gate seems to stand still. We good a small 'goodbye' scene at the curbside. Then she walked into the terminal. I drove away with the sound of Leigh Nash's There She Goes on the radio.

I'm not sad. She'll be back in 2 weeks. =)

Compliance to Audience (yes, that particular one)
I'm blogging right now while I'm on the phone. Interesting how one person can manage to goad me into blogging just for the sake of blogging. Well, this is for her then. Hello world.

Anyhow, I was at Warren's wedding yesterday. The ceremony was good. The reception was awesome as it was on a shoreside restaurant at Berekeley in plain view of the Bay Bridge and the SF skyline. Beautiful reception. Of course, my filet mignon was dry. phooey. Should have gotten the salmon.

The one thing missing from this reception was my chica. I really wished she could have been there. I would have liked to have danced with her that evening. Yes, she had a prior function she had to be at down south. But even still, I would have liked to see her in a dress that evening. For some odd reason, the rose petals on our dinner table made me think of her.

It's hard for us to meet given our crazy schedules. However, we seem to be keeping our heads above the water just fine. Things should be better once this crazy year is over.
